11-year-old Mildred's life is turned upside down when her mum lands in hospital and estranged, American magician father, Strawn Wise comes to look after her. Hoping to engage the bookish tween, Strawn takes Mildred camping in the notoriously rugged New Zealand wilderness, and the pair embark on the ultimate test of family bonding — a quest to find the mythological beast known as the Canterbury Panther. ✨📖🐾

Director Ant Timpson has created a cinematic love letter to the escapist 70s and 80s cinema he grew up with, a film where an all-ages whānau can enjoy all the big screen shenanigans equally. 

BOOKWORM features Nell Fisher (the 12-year old New Zealander who will star in the upcoming series of Stranger Things) and Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings), and is getting rave reviews from critics and kids alike.
