Boots on Ground Day – Bass Coast
Event description
Restoring healthy water flows
Bass Coast Landcare Network and Mulloon Institute invite you to get hands-on with a small sub catchment land restoration project at a Bass Coast farm property. We’ll hear from our host farmers and Landscape Planners from Mulloon Institute about how the project was designed to be achievable, economical and effective. We’ll share a meal, take part in construction and enjoy ourselves while gaining practical skills.
This will be a great day where you will get to participate in constructing a small-scale project aimed at restoring landscape function and retaining water on farm for longer.
This is stage 3 of the Communities of Practice Project, where landholders receive expert mentoring from the Mulloon Institute team to optimise water cycling and landscape function using natural infrastructure and farm system solutions.
Mulloon Institute is a leading research and education organisation helping to build resilient regional communities by supporting the long-term, sustainable growth of Australian agriculture.
