New Year’s Eve Hoedown ✨
Boot Scooting Society is seeing out 2026 the only way we know how — on the dance floor.
Join us for a very special New Year’s Eve Hoedown in a fabulous Melbourne city bar, with line dancing, great music, drinks, plenty of laughs and a whole lot of boot scooting as we count down to midnight together.

Never line danced before? Perfect.
We’ll be teaching throughout the evening, with every dance broken down from scratch. No experience and no partner needed.
Already know your way around a dance floor? There’ll be plenty of social dancing too, with a mix of Boot Scooting Society favourites, requests and country bangers between the teaches.
The night will move between teaching, social dancing, drinks and breaks, building towards midnight when we’ll all see in 2027 together. 🥂✨
Come on your own, bring a friend or round up a whole crew. It’s NYE. The more boots on the dance floor, the better.
RUN OF THE NIGHT
8:00pm • Doors and bar open. Grab a drink and settle in.
8:30pm • Social dancing kicks off.
9:00pm • First beginner-friendly teach.
9:00pm – midnight • A mix of teaching, social dancing, requests, drinks and breaks throughout the night.
Midnight • We count down and welcome 2027 together! 🥂🎉
Midnight – 12:30am • One last scoot before we hang up our boots for the night.

Grab something to eat between dances, get yourself a drink and settle in for the night.
WHAT TO WEAR ✨
The theme is SPARKLE.
It’s New Year’s Eve, so we’re giving our usual country style a little extra shine.
Think boots + sequins, denim + diamantes, fringe + glitter, sparkly cowboy hats, metallics, rhinestones — basically, if it catches the light on the dance floor, we’re here for it.
Go all out or just add a touch of sparkle to whatever you’d normally wear.
The theme is optional. The dancing isn’t.
FINDING ALFIE’S
Fair warning: Alfie’s is a hidden bar. And they really committed to the “hidden” part. 😂
There’s no big flashing sign pointing you towards the dance floor, so if you haven’t been before, give yourself a few extra minutes to find us.
Alfie’s is tucked away at Little Drifter on Franklin Street, with an entrance that’s very easy to miss if you don’t know what you’re looking for.

FILMING
We capture photos and short video clips during the evening for Boot Scooting Society’s social media and promotional content.
We focus on the atmosphere rather than individual dancers. If you’d prefer not to appear, simply let us know when you arrive and we’ll happily keep you out of shot.
GOOD TO KNOW
• Absolute beginners are very welcome
• No partner required
• Teaching and social dancing will be mixed throughout the night
• We’ll be taking requests where we can
• Tickets are transferable but non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organiser

FAQs
- Do I need any line dancing experience?
Not at all. This event is designed to be completely beginner friendly. We’ll teach dances step by step throughout the night, and the social dancing will stick to easy beginner favourites. There’ll always be plenty of people on the floor to follow if you forget the steps.
Just jump in, follow along and have a go.
- I’m coming on my own. Will I feel awkward?
Not at all! Many people attend on their own. Boot Scooting Society is a friendly, welcoming community, making it easy to meet new people.
- What should I wear?
It’s New Year’s Eve, so bring the sparkle! ✨ Sequins, rhinestones, metallics, glitter, fringe, sparkly cowboy hats… go as big as you like.
Most importantly, wear something you can comfortably dance in. Boots are always welcome, but comfortable flat shoes with a smooth sole work perfectly too.
Sparkle is encouraged, not compulsory.
- Is there an age limit?
This is an 18+ event as we’ll be celebrating in a licensed bar. Boot Scooting Society welcomes adults of all ages, so whether you’re 18 or 80, you’re welcome on the dance floor.
- Is there food and drinks available?
The bar will be open throughout the night, with food available to purchase.

- What’s your cancellation policy?
Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person. If we need to cancel, you’ll receive a full refund.
- I’m 50/60/70… am I too old?
Absolutely not! Our dance floor welcomes adults of all ages. Go at your own pace, sit one out when you feel like it, grab a drink, then jump back in when you’re ready. It’s about having fun, enjoying the music and seeing in the New Year together.
Age doesn’t matter. A willingness to have a go does.
