Botanical Art Class with Gilbert RM Dashorst

Immerse yourself in the natural environment of Morialta Conservation Park as you learn key techniques in botanical illustration skills from an expert local artist. Botanical Illustrator Gilbert RM Dashorst has years of experience creating detailed illustrations of the world around him and passing on his knowledge as a teacher.

Using pencils, you can choose to draw either a plant, a view of the park or an interesting object you might find, such as a curled leaf or textured rock. Under Gilbert’s guidance, and in the stunning surrounds of this popular conservation park, you will produce a piece of artwork to be proud of.

Materials will be provided at the event for you to use. This includes paper, pencils, and a drawing board. Please feel free to bring anything else you may wish to use if you would like. 

WHAT TO BRING

Please be aware of the weather and environment and dress accordingly. Things to bring include:

• A stool to sit on (if required)
• Hat and sunscreen
• Sunglasses
• Appropriate clothing
• Snacks
• Personal medication
• Hand sanitiser
• Insect repellent

EVENT CANCELLATIONS

In the case of park closure due to fire or other hazardous weather events, the walks will be cancelled, and you will be notified via Humanitix.
