Event description

'Tis the season for sharing delicious beverages with family and friends and enjoying thoughtful ethical gifts.

In this workshop we’ll explore exciting alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks including infused gins, botanical shrub spritzers and fancy iced teas. We’ll learn how to make use of produce from your garden or local farmers market, make drinks together and them taste them all whilst talking about ethical gift giving. Leave with happy taste buds, a recipe sheet and dried citrus garnishes to use at home.

Some fabulous flavours to look forward to:

  • pink grapefruit and blood orange gin
  • passionfruit gin
  • rhubarb and mint shrub
  • hibiscus, lemongrass and basil iced tea

Your teacher will be Perth City Farm's very own CEO, Kathleen Burton. Experimenting and perfecting the craft of infused drinks over the past few years, Kathleen is ready to take you on a flavour and colour journey with a City Farm twist.

Our Farmer's Market will be in full swing during your workshop and the café will be open, so it's worth arriving a little early to check out the stalls for fresh produce and gift ideas, and have brunch.

Perth City Farm is a community urban farm that supports connected, sustainable communities. Established on a former industrial site in East Perth, this polluted site has been lovingly rehabilitated by volunteers to become a Western Australian icon for environmental sustainability and community engagement. We provide space and opportunities to build community connections, and educate and enable people to live sustainably.
