Boundless Bonds Rope Social
Description
Boundless Bonds Rope Social!
Looking for a relaxed, creative way to spend a Saturday afternoon? Join us for this three‑hour body-centred rope social, where people come together to learn, practise, and share body-centred rope techniques in a friendly, supportive environment.
Whether you're completely new to body-centred rope or you already enjoy the practice, this session is a great chance to:
Explore rope as an artistic medium on the human form as well as a means of relaxation and connection
Practice knots, patterns, and rope handling techniques
Connect with others who enjoy this practice
Learn at your own pace in a welcoming, social atmosphere
This is an open, self‑guided social session—bring your curiosity, your creativity, and any body-centred suitable rope you like working with if you have your own. All experience levels are welcome. The hosts will be available to assist if you're new to this type of rope practice and a limited amount of rope will be available for use on the day for those who don't have their own or would like to try a different type. There will also be nylon and synthetic rope for sale.
A wristband system will also be available for those who want to indicate they are open to being asked to be tied, or to tie others. The Boundless Bonds hosts will explain how this works on the day and will also provide short (10min) information session covering basic safety considerations for anyone who isn't already aware of these aspects. If you are new to the practice we also ask that you have a read through the safety basics section of the Event Terms and Conditions below, before attending this event.
Come along, meet new people, and enjoy some mindful, tactile creativity.
This event is not suitable for children under 18.

We've got you covered! We will greet you on arrival, just let us know you are new to this.
There will be a short 10min info session at the start of the event to cover basic safety considerations and we will happily assist you during the event if you would like some help to get started. Please also read the safety basics section in our terms and conditions prior to attending.
We can also introduce you to others in the group if you'd like to meet new people.
There's absolutely no obligation to tie at all - you can just come along to hang out if you want!

You can arrive at anytime during the event but the info session, wristband explanation and introduction to others will only occur at the start of the event.
- What if I don't have any rope or don't know what type to get?
There will be a limited supply of jute, nylon and synthetic ropes that you can use during the event. There will also be nylon and synthetic rope in some beautiful colours for sale if you would like to purchase some at the event. Cost is $25 for synthetic and $60 for nylon.
If you want to purchase a budget friendly option to start out with, soft cotton rope from discount stores (like Shiploads) is a good way to start.
- What is a 'Wristband System'?
A wristband system works to enable people at an body-centred rope event to see if someone is open to being asked if they would like to be tied, or to tie someone, or both. The wristbands are 3 different colours and each represents one of those options. It is a means of helping people to feel comfortable to start a conversation with someone they don't know, or don't know if they would be receptive to an invitation to engage in rope tying. Wearing a wristband only means you are open to the question "would you like to be tied by me" or "would you like to tie me" - it does not mean that you have to say yes. We will also explain this at the beginning of the event.
- Is there also a workshop at this event?
There is no formal workshop at this event but a short 10min info session covering safety basics will be conducted at the beginning of the event for those who are new to this, and we will be on hand to assist you if you have questions or need help during the event.
- Can I get a refund or give my ticket to someone else?
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable (you can't give it to someone else). However, if the event sells out a resale function will be available whereby you can offer your ticket to someone else. If you would like to gift your ticket to someone else (if the event sells out) instead of offering for resale please contact the host.
