Bow Drill - Fire By Friction Workshop
Event description
Come and learn the ancestral skill and survival technique of creating fire by friction! (i.e rubbing sticks together)
The creation of fire externally requires us to access our inner fire. It is our life-force, grit, passion, spirit and determination.
Working with and developing a relationship with this sacred element is deep work that ripples across all aspects of your life and in my experience something ancient and knowing awakens in your bones the first time you breath life into a glowing coal.
In this workshop we will each make our own bow drill fire kits to practice with and take home. You will be provided with knowledge about what woods are good for friction kits, correct technique and what to use for tinder bundles.
Held at the lovely Magical Farm in Allen's Rivulet, just 20 minutes from Hobart
There will be a tea station set up and an afternoon snack provided (please reach out if you have any dietaries)
(An email will be sent out prior to the event day with exact address and further details.)

Testimonial:
"Emma is such a beautiful, gentle, warm, encouraging and thoughtful teacher and guide. She is super organised and generous with her time, energy and skill sharing. She creates and holds a really comfortable space for all involved and is a delight to spend time with. What a treasure she has been to our community in the short time she has been here. Thank you Emma. I have been to a wooden spoon carving, rattle making and blackberry basket weaving workshop with her and hopefully more to come!" - Bonnie McGee
