Brass Ackwards: Brass with Sass!

They’re Baaack! 

After a smash, almost sold-out, show back in January, Brass Ackwards is returning to The Back Room, where they will show once again that they are still one of the finest groups in their price range.

This ain’t your grandpa’s brass quintet! In fact it’s not even a quintet, it’s a sextet, ‘cause they added a drummer. They also have an unusual instrumentation for a brass quintet/sextet, as They feature 3 trombones and 2 trumpets plus drums. They will, at times, even feature pieces played on the garden hose, Alphorn and watering can.

Their musical styles are eclectic and broad: from Big Band to the Beatles, with lots of original music written specifically for Brass Ackwards. They even feature an Avant-Garde classic from John Cage, one of the most influential New Music composers of the twentieth century. 

FYI, this is a 100-seat venue, and last January they filled about 98% of it, so buying your tickets ahead of time would be prudent. Just sayin’.    

Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door general admission; $15 for students/low-income individuals. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.

Doors open 30 minutes before show time. We accept cash or Venmo only at the door.
