Join us for Adelaide Youth Orchestras and Elder Conservatorium are bringing together young brass players from across Adelaide for our annual Brass Day.

Participants will connect with other young players and learn from top instrumentalists from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, University of Adelaide and AdYO.

On top of expert instruction and fascinating perspectives from industry professionals, participants will have the opportunity to workshop and perform together in a level-appropriate ensemble in a fun, relaxed concert at the end of the day.

As a first, we also have a teacher component for the day. If you would like to learn more about your instrument, or other brass instruments, from specialists, work with the Elder Conservatorium's Head of Brass in Emma Gregan in a teacher ensemble, or help out with our younger ensembles, sign up and get involved!

A detailed schedule and line-up of instructors is coming soon, but registrations are now open!

Eligibility: Brass players from Year 4 to Year 12 (must be currently taking instrumental lessons on a brass instrument). This day is only available to students and teachers to attend.

Each year Adelaide Youth Orchestras (AdYO) provides top music education programs and career pathways for South Australia’s brightest young musicians.

AdYO services and supports 300 young musicians participating each week during school terms a range of large ensembles (Youth Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Wind Orchestra, Sinfonia, and Junior Strings), an exciting Percussion Ensemble, and smaller chamber groups. Since 2021, AdYO has supported more than 2,000 emerging young musicians to engage with our programs.

To be recognised as the leading Australian youth orchestra, giving young South Australians the opportunity to attain the highest standard of musical performance.

To provide talented young South Australian musicians with orchestral training, life skills and education in a safe, empowering and joyful environment.
