    Event description

Last chance to get a taste of Brazen in 2024 as we PopUp in Nelson at the almighty Deville.

With Amanadamania, Mamadafunk and Emma Tree at the helm, this night will be musically off the charts.

In true Brazen style the DJ sets will be accompanied by amazing performances... TBA

Brazen was born from the hearts and minds of Sarah Crowther and Amanda Wright, who saw the opportunity to celebrate, elevate and showcase the extraordinary talent and energy of women and non-binary DJ’s, musicians, producers, performers, visual artists, workshop facilatators and event production experts through a boutique mini festival aptly named Brazen.

Both Sarah and Amanda each have over 25 years of event curation, design and delivery under their belts and know how important attention to detail for all aspects of a festival are essential for all participants and contributors to present their best creative pursuits to a connected community of connoisseurs of “good times”.

The first Brazen took place in May 2022, after a summer of cancelled events due to Covid. The community of contributors that came from around the country to co-create Brazen was humbling and inspiring. The creative output and energy that was generated ensured that Brazen was a concept that was truly here to stay.

After another glorious 2nd rendition of Brazen in April 2023, we were set to go again in 2024.

However co-founders Amanda and Sarah observed the impact of the current economic climate in NZ and how many of the key festivals were suffering from this downturn. They made the wise decision to put the festival on hold until 2025 but build and keep the Brazen kaupapa and energy alive through a series of pop-up events around New Zealand.
We so excited to bring to see you in a town near you soon!
