Description

On October 25th, the impossible happened.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won a fourth term in the runoff election in Brazil, overturning Flávio Bolsonaro’s first-round lead in a historic comeback.

No candidate has ever lost the first round and won the second, until now.

So what happened? How were millions of Brazilians mobilised in support of the incumbent in just 3 weeks? And were 7% of the population really in the same WhatsApp group?!

Come hear from Brazilian communicators and organisers about the digital strategies and movement infrastructure that helped lead to this moment and the lessons for Australian advocates and civil society organisations.
