=============================================================
Dungse Jigme Wangdrak Rinpoche was born in Golok, Eastern Tibet, and is a fourth-generation descendant of the great tertön Düdjom Lingpa. As a young child, he was recognized as the incarnation of Rigdzin Longsal Nyingpo, a 17th-century tertön of the Katok tradition. Rinpoche is the nephew of Chöje Jigme Phuntsok, founder of Larung Gar, the site of Düdjom Lingpa's 19th-century hermitage. There he trained thoroughly in the full path, from sutra through tantra to Dzogchen. He received his family lineage from his great-aunt, Khandro Kunzang Wangmo, who urged him to preserve and spread the Düdjom Tersar in the West. In 2014, Rinpoche founded Abhaya Fellowship in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has taught widely in the United States and around the world since then. His first book in English, Loving Life as It Is: A Buddhist Guide to Ultimate Happiness, came out in 2024 and has been translated into Portuguese.
