Bread baking with Doris in Paekakariki
Event description
Bread baking with Doris in Paekakariki
Join us at our place in Paekakariki around our family table and learn how to make the different breads. Max number: 10 people.
Arrive from 9.45, so we can start punctual at 10, over a hot drink of you choice, introducing each other. We briefly discuss the principles of breadbaking but then get into action, making four types of bread;
- sourdough rye bread and (and sharing recipe for sourdough Artisan sourdough white bread)
- fermented gluten-free buckwheat bread;
- yeast wholemal bread;
- special plaited Sunday bread (Swiss style), and cinnamon rolls ('kannelbulle' Swedish style)
By 12.30 we will sit down for lunch, taste all the breads with homemade dips (different types of hummus) and a fresh salad from the garden, and as many cups of barrista coffees as you like!
Bring something to share for lunch (that doesn't need preparing) with the breads if you like but this is not essential. You could bring a bread tin, to take some bread dough with you to bake at home, and a small container for taking home some sourdough starter.
We have a friendly little cavalier cross dog called Honey as part of our whanau. We live at 59 Wellington Road, up the driveway on your right. Please park below and walk up.
