Event description

Mike Munro was born in Wellington, New Zealand. He is the oldest of five children. Mike's parents were alcoholics. They would become drunk and Mike and his siblings would hear arguments. Then the beatings would begin. Childhood innocence was stolen. Unfortunately, Mike followed the same path.
With outstanding bills and fines to pay, he set his sights on Australia to begin a new life. When he arrived in Australia he continued to drink more and got more heavily involved with drugs.

A simple invitation to church was the start of a new way of living. On arriving at church, his surroundings appeared brighter and he began to see things in a different light, but more importantly something touched his heart. Although Mike had done plenty of bad things in his past, Jesus removed his shame and helped him back on his feet again. However, this time on a path that led to life, not destruction. Mike has come to realise unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Mike's conversion reminded him of his childhood where a lot of things that happened were out of his control. And so, it is for those who allow themselves to be led by the Holy Spirit of God - He is always there for us and will never leave or forsake us.

Mike is happily married to Norelle. They have 2 adult children.
