    Event description

    Did you know that over 200 species of bird have been recorded in the Upper Lachlan?

    Join local ecologist, Tony Saunders, for our summer survey series on a guided walk through local reserves and farmland to spot woodland birds and identify them by sight and calls, followed by a light breakfast and chat about how we can increase bird diversity in our landscape.

    We welcome anyone interested in birds, from beginners to experienced twitchers, to come along!

    • Tips and tricks for identifying a range of bird species
    • How to use apps to record data
    • How to increase bird diversity on farms
    • Revegetation and habitat enhancement for bird life

    WHEN: 

    • Saturday, February 11 - Crookwell area (location to be advised) 8am - 10:30am
    • Saturday, February 18 - Binda/Bigga area (location to be advised) 8am - 10:30am
    • Saturday, February 25 - Wombeyan/Taralga area (location to be advised) 8am - 10:30am

    This is a FREE event, however, registration is essential.

    FAQs:

    Are there minimum age requirements for this event?

    Children are welcome as long as they are able to walk quietly through the bush. Recommended for children aged 10 years and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

    Do I need to bring anything?

    Binoculars (not essential), closed-toed comfortable walking shoes, and a reusable coffee cup.

    What happens if it rains?

    Wildlife don't mind a little bit of rain, so the event will go ahead even if light showers are expected, however, we may need to cancel in extreme weather conditions (eg. high winds or heavy rainfall), we will contact you directly if this occurs.
