Frequently Asked Questions:
What is hypnosis?
It's a state of focussed attention almost like a daydream in which people's subconscious mind is more open to suggestions.
What does hypnosis feel like?
You usually feel calm and relaxed under hypnosis. You still might be able to hear what is going on around you, but it is like background noise. Some people lose track of time and if feels like lots of time or hardly any time has passed while in hypnosis
Will I be asleep while hypnotised?
Sleep and hypnosis are two completely different states. As mentioned before, although your body is relaxed, you might still hear what is going on around you while you are in hypnosis.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
No, you always will come out of the hypnosis.
Will I lose control under hypnosis?
People often worry they could be made to do things they don't want to do under hypnosis. But that is not the case. You're still in control while hypnotised. Your subconscious mind only accepts suggestions that are in line with your values and desires and still allow you to feel safe.
Is hypnosis safe?
Hypnosis is very safe. The only side effect is often a sense of increased wellbeing when coming out of it.
Why should I try hypnosis in order to drink less alcohol?
If you're ready to enjoy alcohol in healthy moderation then hypnosis will make it easier. During hypnosis the message is delivered to the subconscious mind. That means the choices you make become more automatic and thus easier.
