Held on the eve of AusBiotech 2025, this event celebrates the culmination of the SPARC initiative - the Strategic Program for Advancing Research Commercialisation. This program is delivered in partnership with Cicada Innovations and highlights Breakthrough T1D’s mission to accelerate real-world outcomes for people living with T1D.

You’ll hear from six outstanding teams from across Australia as they present their research breakthroughs and progress toward patient impact. The event includes:

• Team presentations from the inaugural 2025 SPARC cohort

Founded in 1970 by families whose loved ones had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D), Breakthrough T1D is a tax-exempt nonprofit 501(c)3 organisation.

Breakthrough T1D is the leading research, advocacy, and community support organisation for type 1 diabetes (T1D) globally. Our vision is for a world without T1D. Our mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat T1D and its complications.
