Description

BREATHE ๐Ÿซ CONNECT ๐ŸŒฑ RESTORE ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Take a pause and enter an online listening and viewing experience exploring your relationship with breath, water and the natural environment.

  1. Begin with Connection Breath ๐Ÿซ 6 minutes

A guided pranayama practice from Breathe 4 the Planet, a listening album by what--makes created in collaboration with acoustic ecologist Andrew Skeoch of Listening Earth.

Put on your headphones, settle somewhere comfortable, and let your breath move alongside recordings of oceans, wetlands, birds and living habitats.

Listen to Connection Breath โ†’ https://what--makes.bandcamp.com/track/connection-breath-ground-connect

  2. Then watch NO EDGE ๐Ÿ’ฆ 5 minutes

An audiovisual work by what--makes, Liza Savchuk and Pete Muenchow exploring our relationship with water, created in response to the algal bloom affecting South Australian waters.

NO EDGE is officially released as a single on 25 September โ†’ presave the track on your favourite platform to hear it again โ™ก

    Watch NO EDGE โ†’ https://vimeo.com/whatmakes/noedge

  3. When the film ends, step away from your screen ๐ŸŒฑ

Take a moment to breathe and spend a few minutes noticing the natural environment around you, wherever you are.

There is nothing else you need to do. No special software or equipment is required. Headphones are recommended.

This experience is part of the Nature Festival's Wired But Disconnected theme: using technology not to disconnect from nature, but as a pathway back into embodied attention and ecological connection.

CONTINUE THE PRACTICE & RESTORE THE SA COAST

Breathe 4 the Planet is available as a full pranayama and acoustic ecology album on Bandcamp. You can purchase the album to support your own listening and breath practice while contributing directly to coastal restoration through Surfrider SA.

100% of profits go directly to Surfrider SA, who are working with Eyre Lab to restore native oyster reefs along the South Australian coast. A listening practice and an act of reciprocity: breath returning something to the landscapes that make breath possible.
