Breathe & Weave
Event description
Now more than ever, it is of imperative importance to slow down, gather and weave connections between Self, people and planet. Our breath is the thread that connects each of us to each other, to the plants, the fungi, the little insect guys, the trees, the oceans, the rivers and so on. Not only this, our breath is the weaver between us, our past and our future. This workshop is an exploratory wander through our breath, our relationship to the breath and our body as well as the wider relationships between us and all living beings. Deep ecology is the philosophy and practice embedded in the deep knowing of our interconnectedness with all life. We are at the great turning point where the story of our humanity is simultaneously decomposing and being birthed anew. As we shift from a mechanistic reductionist way of thinking and into a systemic relational way of being, we must begin weaving connections rooted in people and place. The workshop will thread between these communal collaborative explorations, multiple breathwork practices and a three hour weaving workshop with Wiradjuri Artist, Elisabeth - learning how to create your own pair of earrings or a small basket and being able to take these practices home with you into your own ecosystem of life people and place.
Located at my home in Port Noarlunga South, with a light lunch and endless tea supplied. This will be a beautiful opportunity to gather, to learn a craft that is deeply tied to Country and place, to yarn and to thread connections within Self and to others.
For planet people is a project composed of the intention to facilitate the emergence of the Ecological self, to hold space for the complex and heavy emotions of our current reality in order to transform them into seeds of hope and empowerment and to re-educate in regards to our deep remembrance of our belonging to this planet.
