startup life, take a break to exhale with us! Pilea Coach, Bonnie Coberly, will guide you through an hour-long breathwork
practice that will help you turn off anxiety, dissolve stress, quiet
your mind, connect with your creativity, and recharge your body. It's
like a relaxing reset for your overworked nervous system! You'll leave
feeling lighter, brighter, and more grounded.
What is Breathwork?
Breathwork is an active meditation fueled by a consistent, conscious breathing technique. It is a powerful tool to help you quiet your mind, connect with your body and heart, release stuck energy and emotion, dissolve stress and anxiety, and experience deeper levels of connection with yourself.
Similar to meditation, science shows that breathwork is extremely effective at quieting the default mode network in the brain. It also balances the stress response in the body, reduces anxiety, helps to heal trauma, reduces inflammation, and supports the immune system.
What will I experience?
The breath is the most basic and profound doorway to access your energy and awareness. The simple practice of actively using breath to fill yourself with oxygen and move stuck energy out of your body feels like a highly focused meditation, combined with the rejuvenation of a great nap and the deep release of a workout. It has this unexpected power to melt away what's no longer yours to keep and reconnect you squarely with the essence of who you are. Breath brings new life, always.
We'll begin with a short, guided meditation before you will be instructed to lie down and get comfy to begin a 30-minute breathwork journey. You will use the fullness of each breath to connect to your body, move through your limitations, nourish your nervous system, and connect with your own energy and wisdom.
No previous experience is required, just a willingness to explore the process. While the breathing practice is different for everyone and each journey is unique, some benefits and experiences may include:

- A small pillow
- A comfortable place to lie down
- An eye mask (if you want to block out light)
- A blanket
Please note: Breathwork is most comfortable and effective when your stomach is not full. Please refrain from eating a heavy meal prior to the practice.
