Event description
***Kindly note that this walk has been designed to promote fitness and will require "some" fitness to finish. We like to keep a moderate pace, completing 8 kilometres in slightly over two hours. Definitely not a power walk, however there will be some inclines and soft sand. Therefore, we suggest that you carefully review all event information and ensure that you can keep up with the group. If you don't engage in any physical activity during the week or lead a sedentary lifestyle, this walk may not be appropriate and we encourage you to look join our 5km Newbie hikes***
Bridgewater Bay in Blairgowrie is absolutely breathtaking. This trail offers coastal views for most of the walk, immersing you in vibrant coastal vegetation and the powerful sound of the ocean. With photo-worthy moments at nearly every turn, this walk is sure to leave a lasting impression. Come join us, along with fellow like-minded hikers, as we explore the stunning Blairgowrie back beach.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE WALK:
- Sandy patches of ground
- Some inclines

- No toilet
WHAT TO BRING:
- Water
- Snack. Ie: Banana, high protein snack, Jam sandwich.
- Electrolyte energy drink
- Insect repellant
WHAT TO WEAR:
- A good pair of walking shoes is necessary, which could be hiking shoes or boots. It is recommended to avoid jogging runners as they may not provide enough grip, although it is not a strict requirement. No open toe shoes.
- Decent socks. Ie: a mix of wool, nylon & elastane. Non bulky (Visit hiking stores)
- Compact jacket
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This walk is NOT suitable for children (18+), babies in carriers or for people who do not walk more than 5km’s at a time. This is a National Park, therefore no dogs or animals allowed.
