Event description

Brighton Road Community Bush Garden, located opposite the shops, was developed by a few dedicated locals and is cared for by a small handful of committee members.

What was once a 800 m2 barren block has been transformed into the thriving, bio diverse native water wise garden that many locals are fortunate enough to enjoy today.

The garden is unique in that it is the only native community garden in the City. Created in 2020, the garden is a 'Drainage for Liveability Project' between Brighton Road Community Bush Garden Inc Association, the Water Corporation and the City of Stirling.

Help from the surrounding community at the busy-bee will go a long way to getting the garden ready for summer. If you have 30 minutes, an hour or all morning to spare - we'd love to see you there. It's a great opportunity to get to know other locals and meet the people who started the garden.

Bring your kids, neighbours, your gloves, buckets, secateurs, wheelbarrows and shovels to help with some weeding, pruning and mulching.

We have barista coffee and morning tea for all, children are welcome to participate (we love to have kids included and may be able to organise a little craft bonus for them), however please remember parental supervision is required at all times.

Four legged fur babies will have to sit this one out sorry.

Please RSVP for catering purposes.

Can't make it for 9:00 am or the whole morning? No worries! The garden welcomes everyone for whatever time you can offer - many hands make light work.
