    Event description

Big (and small) Ideas for a critical time in caring for Biodiversity in Gippsland.

Join us for a stimulating and empowering presentation from two leaders and change-makers on putting biodiversity conservation and restoration back into the hands of community.

This is an ONLINE EVENT so tune in from anywhere and everywhere!

You will hear from Gio Fitzpatrick, an award-winning naturalist and environmental activist who will share a practical, evidence-based and always curious approach to understanding what really works in regenerating land for wildlife habitat. Gio has spent years transforming urban landscapes such as a golf-course in Elwood into wetland habitats for wildlife and understanding how a focus on threatened species reversal can most effectively drive revegetation efforts.

Building on this ‘on-the-ground’ understanding of how to nurture biodiversity, you will then hear from Jim Phillipson who is a multi-generational Gippslander and environmental philanthropist who will share the paradigm-changing model of how to transition our precious environment to community stewardship. The newly created Biodiversity Legacy NFP offers an opportunity to change the story of ‘land ownership’ – from seeing our environment as a financial asset, to understanding it as a cultural and environmental treasure for everyone to enjoy, and build a legacy for generations to come.

Please join us for a inspiring sharing of big ideas on how we can collaborate to re-vison our bio-diverse future in Gippsland.
