Presents

Brindabella Winter Dance Weekend

Join us for a weekend full of fun as we dance through the pages of history! Take part in a variety of workshops where you'll learn dances spanning from the Renaissance to the Victorian era. Each evening, celebrate with a themed ball, and don't miss our special afternoon tea dance on Sunday.

All dances will be taught, so whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned dancer, you'll be warmly welcomed. Costumes aren't required for any of the events—but if you're feeling inspired, you're more than welcome to dress to match the theme.

Come along and keep warm with us this winter through music, movement, and a touch of history.

Ball Program

Friday Night: Midwinter Ball

On Friday night, we will celebrate Winter with the warmth and festivity of a Medieval feast. Don wool gowns and surcoats, dig out your furs, iron your hennins! Join in popular dances of the Medieval and Renaissance eras, including courtly pavanes, comedic branles, and vigorous galliards. Catch up with friends, new and old, while enjoying a feast worthy of Richard the Lionheart or Catherine de Medici. No poisoning or public executions will be included in your ticket!

Saturday Night: Fairytale Ball

Channel your inner Cinderella, evil queen, gallant prince or fairy godmother as we step into the enchanted world of 17th and 18th-century extravagance. Tonight is the time to bust out the silks and brocades. Crack open the family vault and shower yourself in the diamonds and pearls. Perhaps your minuet will draw the eyes of the Sun King himself! Pause in your glittering twirl on the dance floor to partake in an elegant supper.

Sunday: Dickensian Afternoon Tea Dance

On Sunday afternoon, we enter the charming world of the 19th Century ballroom. You know the drill, gigot sleeves, hoops, bustles, top hats, frills, spats. It’s all fair game today! Perhaps you might find yourself sipping tea with Miss Flora Finching. We hope she leaves you a scone! Enjoy the many popular dances of the era from the country dance to the polka. Your lively dancing in the quadrilles may even be deemed worthy of Mr Collins’ next letter to Lady Catherine de Bourgh. If she has the condescension to read it!
