Bringing People Together: Enriching Lives Through Inclusive Fishing with Michael McMullan

About The Event

Join us for an inspiring edition of our Bringing People Together networking series as we welcome Michael McMullan, Executive Officer of Fishability. Following a distinguished career in the public service holding numerous senior leadership positions, Michael stepped into the Executive Officer role in December 2020 after serving 11 years as a board member, secretary, and chairman of Fishability’s Governance Committee.

This special evening begins with open networking over light refreshments, followed by an engaging presentation and Q&A session. Michael will share insights from his transition from high-level public service into non-profit leadership, combining his extensive background in administration, governance, and strategy with his lifelong passion for fishing. Attendees will hear firsthand about the vital work Fishability undertakes across Western Australia to ensure individuals living with disability and facing adversity can experience the therapeutic, social, and developmental benefits of recreational fishing.

Community Impact & Inclusive Recreation

Michael will discuss the real-world impact of creating accessible pathways to outdoor activities, the importance of robust community governance in grassroots non-profits, and how dedicated volunteer networks drive meaningful, long-term inclusion. Following the presentation, the floor will open for an interactive Q&A session, giving local professionals and community leaders the opportunity to discuss collaborative community initiatives, non-profit sustainability, and inclusive recreation.

Whether you are looking to expand your local professional network, learn about non-profit governance, or hear an inspiring Western Australian community story, this is an evening not to miss.
