Brisbane Business Networking and Connections September - with Ben Southall
On leadership and life outside of your comfort zone
What if getting out of your comfort zone was directly linked to creating the best job in the world?
This September, BIO Australia features one of Queensland's greatest adventurers, Ben Southall for an evening of inspiring story-telling design to activate you and challenge your thinking, vision and what you're getting out of - and giving - life.
Ben Southall is the founder of Best Life Adventures, an international adventure travel company specialising in extreme wilderness expeditions. He's also a Digital Journalist, Videographer, Social Media Guru and the winner of Tourism Queensland's 'Best Job in the World'.
Over the last decade, Ben has created successful global expeditions in conjunction with travel and tourism organisations around the world. From his world-record-setting Aussie 8 and New Zealand 9 projects, (in conjunction with Tourism Australia and Tourism New Zealand respectively) to kayaking 1600 km along the Great Barrier Reef for Tourism Events Queensland to circumnavigating Africa and driving from Singapore to London in his Land Rover for charity.
His travel website 'Best Life in the World' is the platform through which his inspiring storytelling, creative video production and artistic photography are showcased, and together with his significant social media following across Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, he shares the story of adventure, travel and happiness with his global audience.
Ben has worked as a television presenter for National Geographic, the Travel Channel, the BBC, NASA and Channel 7, Oprah Winfrey and media organisations from around the globe, and as a high-altitude cameraman and Director of Photography in the Himalayas. His video production company Cinomad services clients across the travel, tourism, education, adventure and government sectors.

What makes BIO different?
You don't have to own your own business (but it’s cool if you do) or be an entrepreneur, you just need to be open to meeting new people, listening to their tales, connecting differently and sharing ideas.
We work together to help our members solve problems, build their businesses, further their careers or develop themselves. We give people a platform to tell their story and make valuable connections.
We take the time to find out what your goals are, then help you get there. We make sure the right people are in the room so your time isn’t wasted - and you’re not super bored. We make our events interesting and a little quirky - like holding them in a [insert cool location].
In short, we’re doing things a little differently. That’s why we’re By Invitation Only.
Who should attend?
Entrepreneurs, start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs, and corporates.
Anyone curious, growth-minded, and ready to share their knowledge while tapping into the collective wisdom of the room.
Whether you’ve been in business for years or are just starting out, you’ll walk away with fresh connections and ideas.
Someone looking for a lil' human connection!

A little more...
From the people you meet to the nibbles you nibble, at BIO we’re big into the little details. We are fanatical about all the facets that come together to make a brilliant meet up, because if you feel at home - you’re more likely to be yourself.
What does this mean?
- Be yourself, you’re you - not your Company
- Keep the chat interesting
- We don’t use name tags, because, well… just ask!
We can't wait to see you there.
A little more about BIO...
Talking’s great, but sometimes so is listening.
To make sure each BIO event is interesting, we introduce you to our host for the night. This person will take us on a journey throughout the meet-up and talk briefly on a trending subject that sparks interest. From wine-makers to corporate giants we’ve cherry picked topics that are relevant to all businesses - from retaining your talent to the ever looming robots and AI tech, there’s a little something for everyone.
