Looking for a way to brighten the life of an elderly person in the Brisbane and Gold Coast communities this Christmas? Would you like to remind a wonderful elder—our Grandies—that they are loved, valued, and cared for, whether they live alone or in a nursing home or hostel without family nearby?
Join us for the 2025 Brisbane Gold Coast Grandies (BGCG) Christmas Program, where you can adopt a Grandie and make their festive season truly special!
Who We Are & How You Can Get Involved
Brisbane Gold Coast Grandies (BGCG) is a volunteer-run charity dedicated to spreading joy, connection, and dignity to elderly individuals who may not otherwise receive gifts or visits at Christmas.
Whether you’re an individual, family, community group, or business, you can adopt a Grandie from our list. Each Grandie has a personalised wishlist created by their care facility, giving you the chance to provide thoughtful gifts and remind them they are cherished.

How to Adopt Your Grandie
Browse the Grandies Database – Available from 15 October 2025, updated regularly as new nominations come in.
Choose a Grandie who resonates with you and note their unique code (e.g. GK501-026 Grandie Bill).
Register via Humanitix – Select their unique ticket code to secure your adoption.
Download their Wishlist and shop for their gifts (either from the Grandies Database link above or from the Adopted Grandies Database). Note that profiles can take up to 24 hours to transfer from one database to another once adopted.
🎟 Please note: there is only one ticket per Grandie. If the Grandie you’ve chosen has already been adopted, we encourage you to select another—every Grandie is special.
Adoptions close 19 November 2025, or once all Grandies are adopted.
Delivery Information
Once you’ve adopted your Grandie, you’ll deliver their wishlist gifts during Adopter Delivery Week: 17–23 November 2025.
We offer multiple Brisbane and Gold Coast drop-off locations, plus a postal option for interstate adopters. Final details will be provided with the reminder the Friday before delivery week, including the street numbers for Camp Hill and Helensvale and delivery point contact numbers.
All gifts must fit into one standard Grandie gift bag (33.5cm x 37cm x 33cm) to ensure fairness and easy delivery.
Ensuring Every Grandie Feels the Love
Our goal is to make sure that no Grandie is left without a gift. If a wishlist isn’t adopted or gifts aren’t delivered, our volunteers will use donations to ensure every Grandie still receives something meaningful.
If you adopt but can’t complete your gift, please let us know straight away so we can make alternate arrangements.
