Wrap a Grandie in Warmth This Winter – Adopt Today!

Looking for a heartfelt way to support elderly individuals in the Brisbane and Gold Coast regions during the coldest months of the year? Many of our cherished Grandies—elderly community members who may be living alone or in aged care with no family support—are in real need of winter essentials and emotional connection.

Join the Brisbane Gold Coast Grandies (BGCG) Winter Warmer Program 2025 and help us make a tangible difference. By adopting a Grandie, you’ll provide comfort, dignity, and love through a personalised Winter Warmer package filled with warm clothing, hygiene items, and a meaningful gift to brighten their days.

Who We Are & Why Winter Matters

While Christmas is a beautiful time for giving, winter can be especially harsh for Grandies with limited access to warm clothing or heating. BGCG is a volunteer-run community program under the Magic Moments Foundation, committed to gifting connection and care to elderly Australians who may otherwise be overlooked.

Our Winter Warmer Program is designed to bridge the gap between Christmas seasons by offering mid-year support where it’s needed most.

How to Adopt a Grandie

1. Browse the Available Grandies Database and find a Grandie who resonates with you. Each profile includes their interests, sizes, and wishlist.

2. Note their unique Grandie code (e.g. WK401-009 Grandie Rose).

3. Register via Humanitix by selecting the ticket that matches your Grandie’s code.

4. Download their Wishlist from the Adopted Grandies Database (link in your confirmation email).

5. Purchase all listed items with care—each one has been thoughtfully selected to meet a need.

6. Include the printed Wishlist in your gift and clearly label the outside with the Grandie’s name and code.

Delivery Information

All gifts must be delivered between 16–22 June 2025 to your selected drop-off point. For interstate participants delivering via post, we confirm that postage costs not covered.

Each completed wishlist package must fit into our custom BGCG calico delivery bags, which are 60cm x 50cm. These laundry-style bags are used exclusively during Packing Weekend (28–29 June) and are not distributed to adopters prior to the packing weekend.

For delivery, please use any suitable reusable bag or cardboard box. Just make sure:

• Items are unwrapped

• All items will fit into the final calico bag (60x50cm)

• A printed copy of the Wishlist is included inside

• The outside is clearly labelled with your Grandie’s name and code

Our Packing Weekend will be held on 28–29 June, with final deliveries to facilities on 30 June.
