Listen up, crew! Dan has crunched the numbers, checked the trail maps, and officially traded the city concrete for some glorious Queensland wilderness. On Saturday, September 26th, we are invading the southern suburbs! We’re swapping our city shoes for trail runners, conquering a gorgeous forest canopy, and finishing at a legendary local spot for food and drinks—and we’re even throwing in a crucial coffee pitstop just because we can.
This isn’t just a stroll; it’s a tactical mission to dominate the Toohey Forest trails, breathe in that crisp morning air, and descend upon a den of well-earned feeds and refreshments.

We aren't just walking; we’re navigating the region’s green lungs like we're on a quest for the ultimate Saturday afternoon refreshment.
The Launchpad: We meet at the iconic QSAC. It’s the law that we take at least one group photo here before we launch our assault on the forest.
The Caffeine Fuel-Up: Before we dive deep into the wilderness, we’ll route our way past a local coffee spot. High-quality fuel for the high-quality mission ahead.
The Forest Assault: We cross into Toohey Forest Park for a gorgeous 7.6km loop. Expect stunning eucalypt canopies, local wildlife, and just enough elevation to justify a massive lunch later.
The Final Return: We’ll march our way back out of the green wonderland, returning right to our starting point at QSAC by 3:00 PM before we caravan over to a nearby spot for the ultimate post-hike reward.
🍔 THE DESTINATION: POST-HIKE FEEDS
We aren't finishing the day empty-handed. After crushing nearly 8 kilometers of forest trail, we’re heading to a hand-picked nearby spot to refuel. Imagine ice-cold drinks, epic pub style feeds or cafe classics, and a buzzing Saturday vibe. It’s the ultimate way to reward those legs and kick off the weekend.
🎒 YOUR QUEENSLAND SURVIVAL KIT
Footwear: 👟 Actual running or hiking shoes. Leave the thongs at home—we’re conquering 7.6km of dirt, rocks, and ridges!
Hydration: 💧 1.5L of water. The forest canopy is beautiful, but dehydration is not.
Sun Protection: 🧢 Hat and sunscreen. Queensland warmth is no joke, even under the trees.
