Event description

Join us for to monitor nest boxes as part of KBCB Northside Glider Monitoring Program. Gliders are an iconic species known for their unique ability to glide effortlessly through forests using skin membranes between their limbs. We will be undertaking monitoring at two of project locations:

- Arbor Street Park, Ferny Grove
- Dorrington Park, Ashgrove.

Meeting at Arbor Street side of park we then venture into park to monitor nest boxes using our wireless fauna camera to peek inside nest boxes and tree hollows, which also provides a non intrusive method of checking if any fauna are using boxes. The LED illuminator is wildlife eye safe.

Once the nest boxes are checked at Arbor Street Park we will then travel to Dorrington Park to continue monitoring the remaining five nest boxes. It is optional for volunteers to continue with this section of the monitoring.

This event is suitable for nature enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. Whether you’re a seasoned wildlife enthusiast or simply curious about nest boxes, please come along to hopefully learn a few things about fauna that uses your local bushland.
