Cultural Conversations: Cross Cultural Communication

This is the first in our new Cultural Conversations series — short, practical sessions designed to support CHSP providers in building cultural capability. Each topic is based on feedback and priorities identified by the sector.

In this session, we’ll explore how culture shapes communication, what gets in the way of connection, and what helps build trust — especially when working with older people from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

Held over lunch, this one-hour online session will be relaxed, engaging, and grounded in lived experience. We’ll share practical examples, reflect together, and offer simple strategies you can use straight away.

Who it’s for:
Managers, Team Leaders, Coordinators, staff and volunteers from all CHSP Service programs.
