6:20pm (45 mins) Brainstorming & planning Splitting into break-out groups, attendees will be invited to split into two groups for Halloween or Christmas. As a group attendees will workshop three different topics, spending 15 minutes on each. These include: Ideas storm - Taking 5 minutes, note down on post-it notes the different ideas you would like to see come to life for this event. They can be as big or small as you like, they can be things that already happen each year that you love or new ideas that you would love to see added. This is about getting all your ideas down on paper. Once you have brainstormed all of the ideas, share back to your group what you have added and explain a bit more about how this idea could work in Brookhaven. Championing key ideas - This next topic is about bringing your big ideas to life. Is there an idea on the board that you can champion? What would you need to bring it to life? Could you play a support role in assisting someone with one of the ideas? Once you have had a chance to think through the above, as a group share with each other the ideas you have selected, how you could bring it to life, and most importantly, if you need support to bring it to life. Throughout the discussion, there may be some overlaps of ideas or ways other attendees can help, if so share with the group as they are sharing The wish list - Not all of the incredible ideas brainstormed will be able to be brought to life by the community. However, the community isn’t in this alone. This final topic is about creating a wish list of what else you would like to see at the event. As a group, using the butcher's paper note down what ideas you would like to see included on the wish list. If you know of a local business or community group that can deliver this idea, note them down on the wish list
7:15pm (10 mins) Sharing back to the group We know some attendees would love to be involved in both initiatives, and you can! This next section is about sharing back what you have discussed including: - Ideas that have been championed - The wish list
7:25pm (5mins) Next Steps - To close out the session Marion will thank attendees and let them know the next steps: - Session notes and outcomes will be emailed around with an invite link to join the Collective group - A summary of each initiative's outcomes will be shared with the collective group |
