With over ten years of experience in environmental and wildlife education, Mary has worked at esteemed organizations such as The Raptor Center and Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center, where she cultivated a deep commitment to animal welfare and education.
As a certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, Mary leads immersive nature experiences inspired by "Shinrin-yoku," or forest bathing. Mary is dedicated to creating a supportive and safe environment for exploration and self-expression.
At Eagle Bluff, she oversees the care of captive animals and designs engaging educational programs that link people with wildlife, crucial for conservation efforts. Mary's commitment to staff training emphasizes collaboration with ambassador animals, focusing on animal welfare, safe handling techniques, and effective communication strategies. Her philosophy centers on compassion and care in all interactions with the natural world, driving her mission to enhance the lives of both animals and the individuals who engage with them.
ABOUT THE CHEF:
Tyler Shipton is the Executive Chef and owner of Juniper’s Restaurant. His culinary journey has placed him in some of the country’s most prominent restaurants. In 2012, he decided to embark on his own journey and was one of the opening Chefs and owners of Minneapolis’ Borough. In 2015, he moved to the west coast, with a desire to explore the food scene. After spending several years as an Executive Chef of various top restaurants along the coast in San Diego, the pandemic forced Chef Tyler and fiancé Ame back to the farm he grew up on, and together, the duo founded Juniper’s in Lanesboro, MN.
