Bryan Gloyd & Friends
Event description
An afternoon of music with Bryan Gloyd, Lesley Andrew, and Gina Farrugia.
Born and raised on a farm near Selkirk, Ontario, Bryan started playing piano at six-years old but quickly moved on to the organ; he remains a lifelong fan of the Hammond B3 since hearing it on TV soaps. Bryan was drawn to the creativity and diversity of jazz and found his first inspiration in the recordings of Dave Brubeck and, later, George Shearing. He developed his own style playing at local churches and community events, he became equally as known for his ability to play music ‘by ear’ as he was for being a musician missing the ends of two fingers after a farming accident at age five.
Bryan has been with the Aeolian (and husband Clark) for 17 years and while not deep into Aeolian Hall work has played piano for many notable artists, local and beyond. His non-music life journey includes 16 years of farming, a career in Animal Nutrition and is currently General Manager at Aeolian Hall.
