The closest train station is Brisbane Central, approximately 1.5km from the campus (about a 15-20 minute walk). From there, you can catch a bus directly to QUT Gardens Point - several routes service the campus, and free City Loop buses. The CityCat ferry also stops at QUT Gardens Point, making it a scenic and convenient option if you're coming from along the river.

While BSides Brisbane and the QUT Gardens Point Campus (Z Block) has accessible facilities, attendees with disabilities may encounter the following. Mobility: - Multiple levels within the building with lifts available - Potential crowding in workshop and presentation areas - Standing room in some sessions if seating fills up - Uneven surfaces or steps in certain areas of the campus - Distance between facilities (toilets, food areas, session rooms) Sensory: - Loud audio in presentations and during CTF activities - Flashing lights or animated content in presentations - Background noise from multiple concurrent sessions - Busy, crowded spaces that may be overwhelming Visual: - Low lighting in some presentation rooms - Small text on slides or screens - Digital-only materials or resources Cognitive: - Fast-paced technical content - Complex navigation between multiple session locations - Time pressure during CTF activities Other: - Limited quiet spaces for breaks - Potential for allergens If you have specific accessibility requirements or concerns, please contact us at contact@bsidesbrisbane.com and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.

Toilet location

Accessible toilets are available on each level of Z Block at QUT Gardens Point Campus. Standard male and female toilets are located: - Ground floor: Near the main entrance - Upper levels: Signposted at the end of each main corridor Accessible/all-gender toilets can be found on each floor and are clearly marked with accessibility signage. If you have difficulty locating the facilities, please ask any of our volunteer staff members who will be wearing BSides Brisbane identification, and they'll be happy to point you in the right direction.

Accessible parking

On-site parking is available at QUT Gardens Point Campus for a fee. Enter via Victoria Park Road or George Street. We recommend arriving early as parking can fill up quickly during events. Alternative parking options are available at nearby Wilson Parking locations throughout the CBD. The campus is located at 2 George Street, Brisbane City.
