BTHC + Echo & Bounce pres. D.Tiffany
Event description
BTHC & echo & bounce join forces for a very special initiative in the Meanjin dance music community town hall. Coming together to further the Canadian connection with the third return visit of our homie D. TIFFANY !
D. TIFFANY aka Sophie Sweetland has carved off a truly unique piece of British Columbian sound with her hi-tech, sun-drenched and mesmeric homemade machine jams that have caught the ears of essential Canadian imprints and beyond. Taking the best of that Vancouver haze and creating undeniably tough yet textured experimental sonics varying from softer downtempo rhythms through to jungle/drum & bass and trance. Sophie’s well defined approach has been felt deeply on a curatorial level through infallible pressing entities Planet Euphorique and xpq? co-run with Special Guest DJ. Servicing two broad yet complementary perspectives of electronic music and not skipping a beat in their quest. In DJ (ZOZI) mode Sophie implements high grade track selection, augmented with forward-thinking energy for maximum dance floor effectiveness.
Rounding out this perfection are three of the community’s sweetest; known disc flipper FELIX, E&B’s own sweet JEANI and the powerful NEESHA ALEXANDER. All pumping through a ripper KV2 Sound System !
BTHC, echo & bounce and all relevant parties involved actively acknowledge the Turrbal and Yugara as the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, work and create. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We also humbly acknowledge and celebrate their history as our planet’s first artists, musicians and storytellers. Always was. Always will be.
BTHC and echo & bounce actively strive to include and welcome First Nations people into our space, there will be no charge to those who share heritage with this land’s aboriginal communities.
As always please respect the spaces and each other, dance music was forged through inclusivity and without prejudice. Let’s practice what we preach and strengthen the culture on which we are based.
