Event description
BTHC are back in the spot and here to proudly present another Danish double dose of the Århus massive for a very special dance opportunity. We humbly welcome two pillars of the Regelbau crew in C.K. for the first time and for round three, our homie CENTRAL. We’re beyond stoked to provide to you these world class operators in the warm surrounds of the Meanjin dance music community town hall, Echo & Bounce.
C.K. comes to us on the back of an inimitable run of releases varying from pure downtempo and ambient through to trance, techno and house. His debut album ‘Tracking Patience’ is a masterclass in his signature spaced-out trance, whip smart club cuts and heartwarming chillout. His meticulously crafted sonics have spawned under many projects, collaborating as 2 Bit Crew, Maizena or Changez, and his personal ambient entity 3.11. Beyond the Regelbau/Help/No Hands stables Chris has lovingly curated a vast body of solo work within his label PRS. In deejay mode C.K. provides the goods with an undeniably wistful eye to the past. Deep dance cuts from the ages are methodically blended with modern representations of electronica through moments of blistering energy and soothing euphoria of the highest order. Do yourselves a favour and check out his 6 hour estimulo show, never ceases to amaze.
CENTRAL continues to do no wrong, furthering a unique sound oscillating between classic house, garage and breaks to modern, forward thinking electronica. Since 2014 Natal has fired out a seemingly endless supply of records via the infinite echelons of Århus and a handful through labels such as 12th Isle, Dekmantel, Gravity Graffiti and our very own Brisbane based imprint Esoteric Exports. An absolute highlight came in 2019 when he provided the impeccable production identity for Erika De Casier’s near perfect debut album, ‘Essential’. Bringing back that 90’s RNB flava with his signature forward thinking, clean sonic palette. Also dropping in epic anthologies for seminal music platforms Boiler Room, RinseFM, Melbourne Deepcast and Balamii. His digging and deejay energy is as unique and dependable as the music he prints on wax.
