Build a Band Workshop!
Description
the BAND as an organizing unit.
HOW CAN WE:
put our values into practice?
approach disagreements with curiosity?
handle conflict? repair after conflict?
stay true to our political vision when it’s uncomfortable?
make decisions that reflect the needs and opinions of the group - both individually and collectively?
support each other?
balance differing needs and skill-sharing equitably?
conduct business with integrity despite the capitalist cage we’re in?
develop relationships with each other and our work that reflect the world we want to live in?
defy the decaying music industry
and create with as much enthusiasm as ever?
serve our community? (emotionally, physically, financially, spiritually)
as a BAND, we commune.
we pledge ourselves with integrity to a collective vision
we spiritually ascend, arresting time to bend frequencies
we side-step ego and step into nowness
we invite others to explore our conversation and catharsis
we transmute existential dread into palpable expressions
we propel a vision for humanity in the ways we choose to express ourselves and the stories we choose to tell
we grow by living in relation to one another,
learning through experience and devotion
we practice our craft, we face obstacles and disappointment
we love on each other, even when we don’t like on each other,
because our love for music and humanity supersedes all,
and because we are invested in each others’ journey.
