Join us for a buzzing afterschool activity full of creativity and nature at the Lucas Community Hub! As part of Children’s Week, we’re inviting children and families to take part in a Bee hotel building activity, a hands-on way to learn about native bees and how we can support pollinators in our own backyards!
Build a mini bee hotel using natural and recycled materials to take home.
Learn about the importance of native bees and how to create bee-friendly gardens.
Take home a free indigenous plant from the City of Ballarat Indigenous Nursery.
This activity celebrates Children’s Week by encouraging curiosity, creativity, and care for the environment. It’s a great way for kids to connect with nature and understand the role of pollinators in our ecosystems.

Time: 4pm-5pm
Location: Art Room at Vickers Street Community Hub, 254 Vickers Street, Sebastopol.
Accessibility:
Delivered in an indoor, accessible venue with step-free entry and accessible toilets.
Children can participate at their own pace with support from parents, carers or support workers.
Activities can be adapted for different ages and abilities, including sensory-friendly participation options.
Seating available throughout the session.
Visual demonstrations and hands-on learning provide multiple ways to engage.
