Build a Safety Network for Migrant Businesses - April Roundtable
Event description
We warmly invite you to join us for a valuable roundtable discussion this April, focused on building a safer and more supportive network for migrant-owned businesses across Greater Hobart, with particular attention to the northern suburbs.
Following the success of our February and March sessions where over 15 migrant business owners attended and shared their experiences, challenges, and valuable insights , we are excited to continue the conversation and expand the reach of this important initiative.
This impactful gathering will centre around recent safety concerns and broader well-being challenges faced by migrant businesses. Facilitated by Talent Connector, the session will feature guest speakers including a representative from TasPolice and other key stakeholders.
We’ll also be introducing the concept of being an ‘Upstander’ — someone who takes safe and positive action in the face of anti-social behaviour — and provide practical tools to help you protect your business, customers, and community.
Whether you currently run a small business, are planning to start one, or are simply passionate about community safety and inclusion, this session offers a unique opportunity to connect with fellow entrepreneurs, community leaders, and local authorities.
Key stakeholders including representatives from local government, law enforcement, and community organisations will be present to hear your concerns, share available resources, and collaborate on strategies to address issues such as anti-social behaviour, racism, and barriers to business success.
Join us to share your voice, build meaningful connections, and help shape a safer, more inclusive environment for all migrant businesses in our region.
We look forward to seeing you there.
