This practical and interactive workshop is designed for emerging IT professionals who want to grow their network, connect with the right people, and make a lasting impression.

You’ll explore how networking can lead to new opportunities, industry insights, and stronger professional visibility. Be ready to share ideas and practise with your peers in a relaxed, supportive setting.

 

What we’ll cover:

  • Networking fundamentals – Why it matters, and how to approach it with purpose

  • Etiquette and first impressions – The dos and don’ts, plus how to craft your elevator pitch

  • Making connections that last – From introductions to building genuine relationships

  • Personal branding – Communicate your strengths clearly, both in person and online

  • Overcoming challenges – Tackle nerves, fear of rejection, and other common barriers

You’ll walk away with practical tools, greater confidence, and a plan for how to keep building your network.

Roncey Horton is an experienced recruiter and Principal at 2dSearch, with a strong track record of headhunting and placing ICT professionals across Australia and New Zealand. ICT-qualified and deeply connected in the tech sector, she brings rich industry knowledge and experience working with clients and candidates from diverse backgrounds. Roncey also serves as a Board Member of the SA Branch Executive Committee for the Australian Computer Society (ACS).
