High school students and their parents are invited to this FREE kickoff event for SHPE Jr.! Dive into a hands-on activity exploring a STEM career with MSOE students, learn more about getting involved with SHPE Jr,, and start building a path towards a future in STEM. Parents will learn how to support their students through the college application process including financial aid, scholarships, choosing a school, and more.

Join the Milwaukee School of Engineering Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (MSOE SHPE) for the official kickoff of our SHPE Jr. program, created specifically for high school students interested in exploring STEM, engineering, leadership, and their future beyond high school!

During our kickoff event, students will:

Get an introduction to SHPE and SHPE Jr., learn how they can become involved, and get a look at the opportunities, activities, mentorship, and experiences planned throughout the year.
Participate in a STEM Career Focus by diving into Mechanical Engineering. Students will learn what mechanical engineers do, explore different career paths within the field, and discover what they can do now in high school to start preparing for a future in STEM.

While students explore their STEM pathways, we’ll also be supporting parents through Equipando Padres (“Equipping Parents”). This portion of the event will give parents the tools and information they need to better support their students through the college process. We’ll cover important topics like:

Preparing for college and understanding the application process, including financial aid and scholarships,
Choosing a college, and what families should know as their student takes the next step after high school.

Whether you already know you want to become an engineer or you’re still figuring out what career path is right for you, SHPE Jr. is a place to explore, connect, and build your future.
