Description
Your personal brand and the work you lead are hard to pull apart. People buy from, back and hire people they know, like and trust. And the right people need to get to know you long before they ever need you.
Most of us know this. Few of us have a system for it.
This is a practical, small-group workshop for leaders on building your own personal brand ecosystem: the handful of channels that help the right people find you, get to know you, and come back when they're ready.
What we'll cover
Start with one channel. How to pick the one your audience actually uses, and get properly good at it before you spread yourself thin.
Give every channel a job. LinkedIn, speaking and events, podcasts, newsletters. What each one does well, and what it doesn't.
Build a curated audience. Going viral is overrated. Two thousand followers is just noise if none of them could ever work with you. We'll look at how to reach the people who matter.
Get off rented land. One algorithm change can wipe out an audience overnight. How to build something you own, and get your channels talking to each other.
Your own working example. You'll tell me about your audience and your message when you book, and we'll use them on the day.
You'll leave with
A framework for building your own personal brand ecosystem, designed around your audience and your goals
Tools to build your own content strategy
A clearer sense of your own voice, and how to use it
Who it's for
Leaders of every kind. Founders, owners, GMs, executives and team leads in organisations of any size, plus consultants, scientists, athletes and anyone else who needs the right people to know what they know. Some run marketing teams. Some have never posted. If you've ever thought "I should really be doing more of this", it's for you.
Your host
Dave Hayward has spent 26 years growing brands, from global names like ANZ, AIG and Nike to high-growth homegrown successes. He has worked on three World Cups (Rugby 2011, Cricket 2015 and FIFA U-20 2015) and held senior leadership roles including CMO of Auckland Rugby League and Journey, and GM Marketing at Datacom. He has owned and led Europa Creative Partners, a B2B marketing consultancy in Auckland, for eleven years.
When he took Europa full time in 2024, he built a personal brand ecosystem for himself from scratch: LinkedIn (now 8,000+ followers), speaking and community events, the Slideshow podcast, and the weekly Bright Objects newsletter. This workshop is how that system works, including the parts that didn't.
