Event description

The Building Bridges series on four Wednesday evenings in October is a great opportunity to learn from and with Indigenous people.

If you are interested in Indigenous insights and perspectives for our time this course is for you, whatever your background. To be more informed and aware is in the interest of all Australians and our common future.

First Nations presenters for many years will share their wisdom and experience with the community at large and be in dialogue with you.

Reconciliation for Western Sydney has organized and facilitated these popular events since we began in 1997.

The evenings include the following topics and aim to meet your interests and questions:

2 Oct Where do we come from and where are we going now?

Aboriginal Leaders' Reflections and Dialogue with each other
     and the wider Community

9 Oct Truth Telling Journeys

Hear stories of pain and struggle, personal victories and taking on the system

16 Oct Justice System Change and Care for Young People

Learn of effective, structural and person-centered approaches
to reduce young people’s encounters with the justice system

23 Oct Personal and Collective Healing through Walking Together

Receive insights from artists and knowledge holders about identity
     and truly moving forward together

The sessions are designed to build on each other and attending all evenings will be most valuable for you. Each session stands on its own, so you will benefit from attending as many as you can.

It’s free, including supper, and a chance to meet directly with the presenters and others interested in these matters. It is supported by the City of Parramatta.
