Event description

Join our free digital literacy sessions every week in September!

Great news! After the incredible feedback from our “Be Scam Aware” workshops, we are bringing you something even bigger and better: a brand new four-part digital literacy workshop series, designed to help you make the most of the online world.

Whether you’re just starting out or already feel confident online, these sessions are for you. Why? Because there’s always more to learn. Afterall, no matter our age or digital skill level, we can all use a bit of extra help to stay tech savvy.

Whether it’s making sure your devices and accounts are set up securely so they don’t unintentionally open up to scams and other vulnerabilities, staying on top of the latest tech trends, or making sure you stay connected to your loved ones while you travel, the online world is one to keep on top of because it is always changing.

Workshops will run every week and are your chance to brush up on your skills, learn new ones and ultimately grow your digital confidence in a relaxed, friendly setting.

All workshops are free and open to anyone aged over 50.  You are welcome to attend one, two, three or all four sessions (it’s up to you!) but you must register for each one to secure your seat as places are limited.

Workshop series

There are four sessions to choose from, join us and discover how to:

  • Stay safe and savvy online: passwords, scams and security tips (4 September)

  • Safeguard your financials online: Everyday finances made easy (11 September)

  • Travel safe: Planning and protecting yourself online when planning, booking and travelling overseas (18 September)

  • Use every day apps at your fingertips: Apps to help you live your best life (25 September)

Meet your workshop facilitator

Each session is led by Amit Tailor, Senior Systems Engineer at Bremmar, Southcare’s trusted IT provider. With over 15 years of experience in digital systems, Amit brings practical know-how and a passion for helping others navigate the digital world.

Join Amit and our team for a 4-week series that mixes education with fun, practical and social skills.

This program is brought to you by Southcare’s community connection program with support from Be Connected and Good Things Foundation.

Be Connected is an Australian government initiative committed to building the confidence, digital skills and online safety of older Australians and Southcare is proud to partner with them to deliver this series of engaging workshops.

Morning tea and free street parking included.
