Building Drought Resilience Through Regenerative Agriculture Field Day
Description
When: Friday 13 November 2026
Time 9.00 am – 1.00 pm
Where: Barega, 507 Nile Road, Evandale
Cost: Free event
Join the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) for a free practical field day exploring how regenerative agriculture can support drought resilience, improve soil health and enhance farm productivity.
Supported by the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund, TIA, the University of Melbourne and Charles Sturt University are undertaking long-term sheep grazing trials to investigate how regenerative grazing practices influence pasture growth and recovery, soil carbon, greenhouse gas emissions and farm profitability over time.
The field day will provide an opportunity to explore the longer term trial during a guided field walk with TIA researchers, experience innovate technologies in action including TIA’s Ag Tech Innovation Studio’s QUOLL electronic nose and drone-based pasture biomass monitoring. In addition, hear insights from farmers, and industry representatives discussing the opportunities and challenges of adopting regenerative agriculture practices for drought resilience, sustainability, and market-based benefits.
Morning tea & BBQ lunch included. Farmers and service provider's welcome.
