Tue, Jul 22, 8pm - 9:15pm EDT

Event description

We hear about conflicts around the world every day, but have you ever imagined the backgrounds of the young people fighting as combatants on the frontlines?

Accept International has long recognized the limitations of current approaches, such as airstrikes, in addressing the damage caused by terrorism and armed conflict. Instead, we have focused on untangling the root causes of these conflicts, particularly the cycles of hatred that fuel violence. In countries like Somalia, Yemen, and other conflict zones, we have been supporting young people involved in armed groups, including violent extremist organizations, helping them disengage and reintegrate into society.

In this event, our staff with experience in conflict zones will share real stories from young people who have been combatants, discussing their journey from joining armed groups to reintegrating into society. We’ll also explore the causes of prolonged conflict and our unique approach to peacebuilding.

Through this event, we hope you’ll gain new insights into conflict resolution.
