Building Our Outdoor Movement (BOOM) program
Event description
Livingstone Shire Council has partnered with Outdoor Queensland to bring the Building Our Outdoor Movement (BOOM) program to the region - an initiative designed to help participants take the first steps toward becoming more physically active, enjoying time outdoors, and experiencing the health benefits of connecting with nature.
Participants will take part in three introductory-level guided walks through local bushland and parklands, with each session held in a different location. It’s a great opportunity to get moving, meet new people, and explore the natural beauty of our region.
Session Dates:
Monday 11 August – 8:00am
Monday 18 August – 8:00am
Monday 25 August – 8:00am
Each session will be led by Shireen and Kiera from Salty Steps and will finish with a calming breathwork session followed by a relaxed morning tea catch-up.
This program is designed for community members who are not currently active. All participants are required to complete a short pre- and post-program survey and utilise GroupMe (the BOOM social media platform), to stay in touch with fellow participants, share your thoughts, upload photos, and make plans!
Places are limited please register only if you can attend all three sessions.
This initiative has been made possible through funding secured by Outdoor Queensland via the Queensland Government’s Active Industry Project Fund.
