Event description

In many societies throughout the world, girls and women are still conditioned to be accommodating, selfless and deferential - qualities that are rarely associated with ‘power’ in the Australian workplace.

For migrant women, the challenge is even greater.

Navigating unfamiliar cultural norms around conversation, communication, and body language can make it harder to have ideas amplified, voices heard, and contributions recognised. It’s no wonder that many migrant women grapple with how to harness the power they already have, let alone how to expand their power. Adding to the frustration, traditionally feminine ways of cultivating power - through reflection, collaboration, and curiosity - are often undervalued compared to more masculine norms of authority.

So, is it possible to be a powerful woman in the Australian workplace without copying the traditional corporate behaviours, language, or body language? In this highly interactive workshop, Anna will show that the answer is an emphatic “yes!”

You’ll gain practical tools to:

  • Recognise power dynamics in the workplace

  • Exhibit authentic, powerful behaviour, body language, and vocal habits - even in high-pressure moments

  • Use your power to create positive outcomes for yourself and your community.

About Anna Lee

Anna has partnered with community organisations, universities, government and businesses big and small. Anna is one of only a handful of Tiny Habit certified coaches in Australia, and has sat on a number of Boards and Management Committees, including the South Australian Premier’s Council for Women.
