Event description

Thriving Kids in Disasters: Building Resilience in Early Childhood

The Scenic Rim is no stranger to severe weather, but many early childhood professionals are seeking targeted training to help children prepare for, cope with, and recover from natural disasters.

Join us for an insightful workshop where you'll explore key findings from the Thriving Kids in Disasters Report, gaining valuable research-backed insights into the impact of disasters on early childhood.

You'll also be introduced to Birdie’s Tree and The Pillowcase Project—two evidence-based programs designed to build children’s resilience through developmentally informed approaches, helping them feel safe, connected, empowered, and hopeful in emergencies.

The day will conclude with a collaborative session focused on shaping the future direction of our sector’s role in disaster preparedness and recovery.

Be part of this essential conversation and leave equipped with practical tools to support the children and families in your care.

**Morning/afternoon tea & light lunch provided
